SISTERS

New York City | 2019

This documentary examines the role of American women in the Catholic Church at a time of sexual abuse crisis and the escalating debate over reproductive rights in America.

The film captures the final months of preparation as Hailey, Larissa, and Kaitlyn work towards swearing their eternal vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. As these young women adjust to life in the convent and try to discern if this is truly the right path for them, Sister Maria Teresa, Sister Josephine, and Sister Mary Pieta share their own experiences of becoming religious sisters.

Filmed and Edited by Alexandra Ostasiewicz. Co-Directed with André Martins.
